The “Laboratoire national de santé” is a public institution operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. Organized as a multidisciplinary institute, its six departments include services and units related to pathology, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, legal medicine and health protection.
The Genetics Department will provide all aspects of medical genetics in Luxembourg, including genetic counseling, genetic testing and genetic analyses of tumors. The current genetics service platform at the LNS will merge into the future “Centre National de Génétique Humaine” (CNGH).
In order to achieve this ambitious goal a generous budget has been allocated to launch a substantial recruitment program, strongly invest into laboratory infrastructure and supply the future CNGH with running costs. This will allow the creation of a multidisciplinary team for genetic counseling and considerable development of laboratory capacities.
The candidate will have a strong experience in medical genetics and team management. He/she will be a Medical Doctor with a recognition in Human Genetics. Successful candidates will be offered a highly competitive salary, depending on qualification and experience, plus an annual premium. Luxembourg is an area of outstanding natural beauty and superb infrastructure and healthcare facilities. It offers a high quality of life and gives access to a large range of excellent schools.
