Health Protection
The LNS Health Protection Department supports public health and healthcare for problems caused or aggravated by the environment. Its main stakeholders are the hospitals, the ministries, and the occupational health services in Luxembourg.
The Department consists of two services:
- The Service Environmental Hygiene and Human Biological Monitoring houses the laboratory.
- The Service Medical Expertise and Data Intelligence houses the expertise in environmental health and environmental medicine.

Research and projects
The Department Health Protection contributes in the technical working groups of the European science-policy programs, regulations and directives (EIRENE, PARC, and before HBM4EU) and this in the following domains: human biomonitoring, indoor pollution, risk assessment, epidemiological surveillance, and quality.
