How do I receive my patient’s test results?
Test results are automatically sent to the healthcare professional who ordered the test, as well as to any other professionals copied in, where applicable.
Results are transmitted as follows:
- Via the Regibox digital platform, for users with the necessary access. To obtain access, please follow the instructions provided here.
- By post, if the professional does not have a Regibox account.
- For hospitals: reports are systematically sent electronically in PDF format via LUXITH.
For confidentiality and security reasons, no test results are communicated by telephone.
Does my patient receive their test report?
Results can be sent to the patient by post if this option is requested when the test is ordered.
However, for certain categories of tests, reports cannot be sent directly to the patient.
This is particularly the case for certain genetic or pathology tests, whose interpretation requires appropriate support and additional explanations. For these tests, results are sent only to the ordering physician to allow them to be communicated to the patient with appropriate support and context as part of their medical follow-up.
Since October 1st, anatomical pathology and cytology reports will also be integrated into the patient’s Shared Care Record (DSP). The patient will therefore be informed that their examination report is available in their Shared Care Record, without the content of the report being visible.
Anatomical pathology reports will remain locked in the Shared Care Record. It will be the responsibility of any healthcare professional who is part of the circle of trust defined by the patient to unlock access to the report, so that they can provide it to the patient and give them the explanations necessary for them to understand it. For more information on how to unlock the document, please refer to the DSP Quick Guide for Healthcare Professionals, available here.
Cytology reports, however, will be accessible immediately.
Analysis reports from our various specialties will gradually become available on the DSP, so that each patient can eventually access all of their reports.
How long does it take for test results to become available?
Turnaround times vary depending on the nature and complexity of the analyses performed. They can be found in the Analysis Catalog.
Please note:
- For some specialized tests, additional time may be required due to the techniques used or additional analyses.
- Samples are generally processed on D+1 after collection. This processing time may be longer for certain analyses.
- Analyses are performed Monday to Friday only (excluding public holidays).
