About NATIONAL CENTER OF GENETICS

The NCG at the LNS has approximately 45 employees and is subdivided into three services:

The Clinical Genetics Service offers specialized medical consultations to people who are concerned about, or may be at risk for, genetic conditions. These consultations are in-person visits at the LNS, with individuals or families. Each session is different and unique, based on the patient’s needs, but will typically include a comprehensive review of the patient’s medical history, a physical examination, the organization of various laboratory testing (including but not limited to genetic analysis), and a detailed explanation about the diagnosis, including what is known about its natural history and recommendations for management.
