About the Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS)
The “Laboratoire National de Santé” (LNS) is a public institution under the supervision of the ministry of Health in Luxembourg. Organised as a multidisciplinary institute and supported by a professional services team, the LNS includes four scientific departments in the fields of medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection, in addition to hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics.
The LNS has its new premises in Dudelange, with state of the art, modern infrastructure in line with recent developments in medical sciences.
Its objective is to develop scientific and analytical expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases. Its ultimate mission is to serve patients and citizens and offer excellence in health care.
In the context of the replacement of a maternity leave, the molecular genetic unit of the national center of genetics (NCG) is seeking to hire an experienced molecular biologist / geneticist to strengthen the existing team performing molecular genetic diagnostic tests in the context of genetic diseases and molecular oncology. The position is initially for one year starting November 1st 2021. If the collaboration is successful, a permanent position can be offered at the end of the temporary contract.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated partner with an interest in developing and using state-of-the-art molecular techniques to improve patient care.
The scientist will participate in establishing, validating and coordinating next generation sequencing based assays and bioinformatic analysis of these assays with the aim of writing diagnostic genetic reports. The scientist will also participate in ongoing research and collaborative projects and will be offered the opportunity to apply for funding for research projects.
