Forensic Toxicologist (m/f)

Type of contract: Full-time and undetermined duration contract (CDI)

Laboratoire national de santé (a Luxembourg public institution) is recruiting a Forensic Toxocologist (M/F)

 

For a full time (40h/week) and permanent contract starting as soon as possible in the Forensic Toxicology Unit of the Forensic Medicine Department.

 

About the LNS

The Luxembourg National Health Laboratory, “Laboratoire national de santé” (LNS) is a public institution operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. It is organized as a multidisciplinary institute, which along with an administrative department, includes six scientific departments related to the fields of morphological and molecular pathology, genetics, medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection.

 

The LNS has new premises with modern, top-notch infrastructure to respond to the requirements and most recent developments in medical and analytical sciences. The purpose of the LNS is to develop analytical and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases; to ensure the role of a national control and reference laboratory and to provide medico-legal services.

 

The LNS contributes to the development, harmonization and promotion of laboratory methods in projects in cooperation with other laboratories and develops research and teaching activities in collaboration with ad hoc partners in Luxembourg and abroad.

Desired profile 

 

  • PhD in toxicology, pharmacy, biology, chemistry or equivalent
  • Expertise and proven professional experience in forensic toxicology
  • Experience in analysis and interpretation of blood, urine, postmortem samples and hair samples
  • Experience in the implementation of quality management in a laboratory (ISO 17025)
  • Experience in performing research projects
  • Fluency in English and German. French and Luxembourgish are an asset
