Junior HR Officer (M/F) Ref° 202

Type of contract: Full-time and undetermined duration contract (CDI)

We are looking for an energetic and motivated junior HR Officer to strengthen our team. The Junior HR Officer provides a comprehensive, accurate and timely HR administrative support service. He/she will support the HR team in its daily operations and ensure the smooth running of all HR administrative tasks.

About the Laboratoire national de santé

The « Laboratoire national de santé » (LNS) is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. As a multidisciplinary institute, the LNS consists of four scientific departments in the fields of medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection. In addition, the LNS is also hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics. The LNS has its premises in Dudelange since 2013.

The mission of the LNS is to develop analytical and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases and to ensure the role of a national control or reference laboratory as well as to carry out forensic tasks. The institution also contributes to the development, harmonization and promotion of technical laboratory methods in close collaboration with local and international analytical laboratories. Within the scope of its responsibilities, the LNS is also leading research and teaching activities in collaboration with partners in Luxembourg and abroad.

With its modern infrastructure in line with the recent evolution of medical and analytical sciences, the LNS is an ambitious laboratory with innovative projects that increase its expertise in public health.

MAIN TASKS

  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the HR department ;
  • Closely collaborate with the HR team at all stages of the employee lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate service ;
  • Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries ;
  • Maintain records of employee attendance and absence within our HRIS ;
  • Assist with the recruitment process by drafting and posting job ads, shortlisting candidates, and scheduling interviews ;
  • Manage internships and summer jobs administration ;
  • In close collaboration with the team, provide support to Learning and Development activities ;
  • Organize mandatory medical checks with the occupational health practitioner ;
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees according to GDPR regulation ;
  • Maintain the accuracy of HR information within our HRIS system;
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, rules, regulations and best practices ;
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and HR initiatives.

The above list is not exhaustive and further tasks could be added according to the needs of the service.

PROFILE

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with a first HR experience (minimum of 2 years);
  • You are fluent in French and English, spoken and written. German and/or Luxembourgish would be considered as an asset ;
  • You have a very good command of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ;
  • Ideally, you have a first experience in working with an HRIS ;
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, service-oriented with a can-do attitude and team player ;
  • You are well organized, flexible, team player and able to cope with a various number of different tasks in a dynamic organization ;
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
  • You are willing to learn and to develop your HR skills and your technical capability.
