Type of contract: Full-time and undetermined duration contract (CDI)

The Laboratoire national de santé is recruiting a Laborantin (m/f/x) in CDI for the Molecular Diagnostics Unit of the National Centre of Genetics.

Responsabilities

  • Contribute to the daily activities of the molecular genetics laboratory
  • Register patients and encode requested tests
  • Extract nucleic acids from various starting materials (blood, bone marrow, FFPE tissue)
  • Perform molecular assays on patient samples (PCR, NGS, aCGH and others)
  • Assist in the interpretation of molecular results
  • Take part in the validation and verification of new molecular tests
  • Actively support the quality management system, including drafting related documentation

Profile 

  • A bachelor’s degree in laboratory technology (BAC+3, e.g. specialisation in technicien de laboratoire biomédical, en biotechnologie or en génie génétique) qualifying you to practise as a Laborantin in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
  • Experience with molecular genetics techniques: nucleic acid extraction, PCR, next-generation sequencing and aCGH
  • Strong interest in human genetics, in the context of hereditary disorders and/or cancer
  • Solid IT skills, including MS Office and experience with a LIMS
  • Working proficiency in English
  • Comfortable in a multicultural team, with a patient-centred approach

Considered an asset

  • Experience in molecular pathology of solid tumours
  • Experience in a molecular diagnostics laboratory accredited to ISO 15189
  • Experience with primary and secondary analysis of sequencing data
  • Good command of French or German; Luxembourgish is a further advantage
