ABOUT THE EU-JAMRAI-2 PROJECT

The Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Healthcare-Associated Infections (EU-JAMRAI 2) is the continuation of the successful first phase of an EU-wide project in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and focuses on a One Health approach to combat antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections, one of the greatest health threats of our time. The aim of the project is to reduce the risk of exposure to antibiotic-resistant bacteria. EU-JAMRAI 2 brings together all EU Member States (MS) as well as Associated Countries (AC) to work in areas such as infection prevention and control (IPC), surveillance and monitoring, comprehensive antibiotic stewardship (AMS), awareness raising and innovation. In line with the One Health approach needed to combat antimicrobial resistance, the initiative also includes action in the areas of animal health and the environment.

It contributes to several EU4Health policy priorities against AMR :

  • Strengthening coordination and responsiveness of health systems;
  • Ensuring access to critical medicinal products and medical devices;
  • Protecting citizens;
  • Involving ministries, agencies, and institutions in charge of animal health and environmental issues;
  • Uptaking the EU-JAMRAI 2 outcomes in the respective Luxembourgish National Action Plan (NAP);
  • Implementing concrete actions and capacity building through support programs including pilots, mentorship/observership, on-site visits and training;
  • Making use of behavioural science, with activities to identify and lift barriers impeding the implementation of AMS/IPC measures.

You will play a crucial role in EU-JAMRAI 2 as part of work package (WP) 6.1 (Antimicrobial Stewardship in Human Health) and work closely with the Scientific Officer and the Head of the Department as well as with the project team and the consortium.
