List of our missions
The LNS’s mission is to:
- develop analytical activities and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases;
- serve as a national control or reference laboratory;
- carry out forensic missions and manage the Forensic Documentation Unit (UMEDO);
- carry out analysis, control, expertise and research activities in the field of consumer protection;
- contribute to the development, harmonisation and promotion of laboratory methods and techniques, in close collaboration with analytical laboratories in Luxembourg and abroad;
- develop research and teaching activities;
- manage the National Centers for Genetic and Pathology Diagnostics.
