The NANO-SCOPE project aims to improve the diagnosis of brain tumours, particularly gliomas, using liquid biopsy.
This technique makes it possible to analyse tumour DNA fragments present in body fluids, thereby avoiding the risks and delays associated with surgical operations. By identifying the type of tumour more quickly and precisely doctors will be able to offer personalised treatments and potentially avoid certain surgical procedures. This project is led by Dr Katrin Frauenknecht of the Laboratoire national de santé (LNS) and Dr Reka Toth of the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH).
Thanks to the support and funding of the Fondation Cancer and the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), this project will be successfully completed.
