Prenatal and Newborn Screening: Building the Future of Infant Health
2026 03-02

On February 4, the LNS organized a conference dedicated to prenatal and newborn screening, bringing together more than 80 healthcare stakeholders around a major public health challenge: strengthening prevention and improving the care pathway for families in order to shape the future of screening in Luxembourg.

On this occasion, participants had the opportunity to attend presentations by Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Zschocke, specialist in human genetics at the Institute of Human Genetics of the Medical University of Innsbruck, as well as Dr. med. Nicolai Kohlschmidt, specialist in genetics and pediatrics at the National Center of Genetics of the LNS, who shared their expertise and perspectives on the evolution of screening practices.

This event was organized with the valuable support of our partners — the Luxembourg Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Luxembourg Society of Pediatrics, and the Luxembourg Association of Midwives — and in the presence of Ms. Martine Deprez, Minister of Health and Social Security.
