About the Laboratoire national de santé

The « Laboratoire national de santé » (LNS) is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. As a multidisciplinary institute, the LNS consists of four scientific departments in the fields of medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine and health protection. In addition, the LNS is also hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics. The LNS has its premises in Dudelange since 2013.

The mission of the LNS is to develop analytical and scientific expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases and to ensure the role of a national control or reference laboratory as well as to carry out forensic tasks. The institution also contributes to the development, harmonization and promotion of technical laboratory methods in close collaboration with local and international analytical laboratories. Within the scope of its responsibilities, the LNS is also leading research and teaching activities in collaboration with partners in Luxembourg and abroad.

With its modern infrastructure in line with the recent evolution of medical and analytical sciences, the LNS is an ambitious laboratory with innovative projects that increase its expertise in public health.

The National Health Laboratory (Public Institute in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) is recruiting a Quality Coordinator (m/f) for the National Center of Pathology, in a full-time position (40h/week) with a fixed-term contract, starting asap until end-december 2024.

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Organize and ensure the maintenance of Quality Management System throughout the department
  • Close contact with the various institutions and link with the Chief quality officer
  • Assistance and advice in setting up and monitoring quality indicators in collaboration with the heads of department, heads of service and Quality Referents
  • Follow-up and analysis of non-conformities, complaints, customer satisfaction surveys, etc. in collaboration with the Quality Referents
  • Involvement in the identification and analysis of quality problems by proposing corrective actions
  • Follow-up of opportunities and/or corrective actions
  • Inform and report any malfunction to the Heads of Department (need for resources, risks, etc)
  • Monitoring, updating, implementation and dissemination of legislative regulations
  • Planning, participation and follow-up in various audits (internal and accreditation)
  • Preparation and participation in management reviews/quality meetings
  • Information and training of the laboratory staff in the field of quality
  • Replacement of the different Quality Referent of the department, organizing and delegating tasks if necessary
  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) in the department and maintain its effectiveness according to relevant version ISO 15189
  • Maintain the document management system
  • Support quality topics other the ones above upon requests

The above list is not exhaustive and further tasks could be added according to the needs of the service.

 

PROFILE

  • University degree in science or any other equivalent degree recognized within the LNS HR department
  • Minimum experience in a quality assurance position of 5 years in an accredited or certified activity
  • Specific training in quality assurance or recognized experience according to ISO/IEC 15189
  • Knowledge of languages: mandatory English (business proficiency written and oral), Luxembourgish, French, German is an asset.
