LNS contributes to discovering a new bacterial species
2019 11-14

An international collaboration between LIST, the veterinary laboratory LMVE, Ifremer, the National French Reference lab for Campylobacter in Bordeaux CNRCH, the US Department of Agriculture and the epidemiology and microbial genomics unit of the LNS microbiology department just published an article describing a new bacterial species, the Campylobacter armoricus.

This new Campylobacter armoricus sp. nov., novel member of the Campylobacter lari group, was isolated from surface water and stools from humans with enteric infection. The LNS team conducted the whole genome sequencing on all isolates described in the publication.

What a great example of what can be achieved with a One Health approach! Congrats to the whole team!
