The DNA Service
Expert assessments and opinion based on the tools of molecular biology are provided in order to grant objective evidence interpretation during crime scene investigation and at court.
The level of quality, technical accuracy and availability meets the needs of members of the judiciary. In order to strengthen relations with the law and meet growing demands, the service has increased its workforce. In addition, the service is accredited by OLAS (the Luxembourg Office of Accreditation and Surveillance) according to ISO 17025 standards.
The service also seeks to consolidate its international relations by participating regularly in work groups and inter-laboratory exercises in various institutions such as the GEDNAP, German DNA Profiling Group, ENFSI, European Network of Forensic Science Institutes and ISFG, International Society for Forensic Genetics. These international associations aim to promote scientific knowledge in the fields of medico-legal and forensic genetics.
