European Cancer Leagues Annual Meetings

European Cancer Leagues Annual Meetings
2019 11-28

As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the Fondation Cancer has been organizing the European Cancer Leagues Annual Meetings which took place in Luxembourg with workshops, conferences and visits. It is Mme Lucienne Thommes herself, director of the foundation and member of the LNS Conseil d’administration, who was session chair of the meetings.

The LNS was proud of being part of the agenda of this important event! Thus, the institution had the pleasure to welcome some of the participants of the Patient Support Working Group for the visit of the National Center of Pathology (NCP) as well as the National Center of Genetics (NCG). On top of this, Prof Dr Michel Mittelbronn, head of the NCP, did a lecture on how the transformation of images in “0” and “1” improves patient care and pathologist’s life.

The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is a non-profit, pan-European umbrella organisation of national and regional cancer societies. Located in Brussels, ECL provides an exclusive platform for members to collaborate with their international peers, primarily in the areas of cancer prevention, tobacco control, access to medicines and patient support, and creates opportunities to advocate for these issues at the EU level.

Cancer Leagues believe that beating cancer is a mission possible and that the quality of cancercare available in Europe depends on the quality of cancer research taking place across the region and beyond!
