The interview with Professor An Van Nieuwenhuyse about the National Service for Environmental Medicine service can be read HERE.

The Health Protection Department of LNS, and more specifically its “Medical Expertise and Data Intelligence” works closely with CHEM (Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch)  as part of the National Service for Environmental Medicine.

Thanks to the LNS’s ‘Emweltambulanz’ (environmental ambulance) and its nursing team for field sampling, all kinds of samples of air, dust, surfaces and potentially hazardous materials are taken for analysis. These same experts also take human biological samples (blood, urine and hair) when a medical doctor decides to measure the concentrations of environmental (or occupational) chemicals and microbiological agents, as well as their metabolites, directly from the patient.
