UMEDO – 1 year already
2019 07-24

The unit for medicolegal documentation of injuries officially began its activities on 23 July 2018, just one year ago. This anniversary is the ideal moment for the national press to take stock of the situation.

Last Friday,  the report with the interview with Thorsten Schwark by journalist Eric Ewald was broadcast on RTL Radio.

And this Tuesday, it was Radio 100.7 journalist Maurice Molitor who spoke with Martine Schaul on this subject on the socio-cultural radio station.

As a reminder: Developed jointly with representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Police, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Equal Opportunities and the team of the LNS legal medecine department, this service is intended for adult victims of physical and/or sexual violence who, at first, do not wish to involve the police and/or press charges. Indeed, only 5 to 10% of victims of violence decide to take steps with the Public Prosecutor’s Office or the Police. UMEDO is composed of forensic specialists.

UMEDO can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via the telephone number (+352) 621 85 80 80 and on www.umedo.lu
