On June 28 2022, the International Neonatal Screening Day (INSD) took place. The aim of this day was to support and highlight all neonatal screening professionals around the world.

For this occasion, the LNS and more precisely the department of Medical Biology of Dr pharm, Dr sc. Patricia Borde responded to the call from the International Society for Neonatal Screening (ISNS) to produce an in-house video celebrating the day. The aim of the video was to present the laboratory that carries out the screenings. Patricia Borde’s team carries out the neonatal screening tests offered to all children born in Luxembourg. This programme, which is a public health action, currently involves the detection of 5 diseases on whole blood spot: phenylketonuria, congenital hypothyroidism, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, MCAD deficiency and cystic fibrosis

“We are happy to join the International Newborn Screening Day 2022 to support the work of all professionals in neonatal screening worldwide,” they stated in the video.
